CAF adopts an innovative digital analysis system in the 2025 African Cup of Nations – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The technical study group of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has radically transformed the system of analyzing matches for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, by adopting an advanced digital model for the first time in the history of the tournament.

According to CAF’s official website, there has been a transition from traditional manual reports to an intelligent analysis system based on live data and multi-angle video platforms, with the use of the wide tactical camera to monitor players’ movements off the ball, analyze pressure areas, and build attacks with extreme precision.

CAF explained that explanatory video clips were integrated into the technical reports to explain complex tactical situations such as pressure and quick transitions, making them a direct practical reference for coaches. The work structure has also been changed from individual observation to specialized teams that include experts and video analysts for each match, to enhance technical discussions and ensure comprehensive coordination.

This modern technical framework aims to compare African football with global trends and integrate the results into coach training programs, to ensure the development of the game on the continent based on realistic data and modern analytical tools.
