France: A lawyer filed a lawsuit against Rotayo for inciting hatred and discrimination – Algerian dialogue

Lawyer Khadija Audi, the former president of the Nem City Lawyer (southern France), filed a lawsuit before the Republic’s Court of Justice against Interior Minister Bruno Rotayo for incitement to hatred and discrimination.
The lawyer deposited this lawsuit, last Friday, in the name of an active association in popular neighborhoods due to the increasing discriminatory actions and letters recorded in the field. The lawsuit against Rotayo included all the statements he made since he assumed the position of Minister of the Interior, which is distinctive, especially towards Muslims.
Mrs. Audia, the former president of the Nim Lawyer Syndicate (2023-2024), stressed that “the law is the only way to prevent the exacerbation of the situation and the slipping towards violence,” explaining that the matter is related to “special discriminatory statements towards French Muslims, not worthy of a minister that is supposed to be a protector of the constitution.”
Among the statements mentioned in the lawsuit made by Rotayo on September 29 on a French TV channel, where he said: “Immigration is not an opportunity for France (…) immigration is one of the most phenomena that rocked French society during the last fifty years without the French express their opinions on it.”
The lawsuit also included the statements made by Rotayo in February 2025 with the same TV channel when he said: “The veil is a symbol of apartheid …”. The lawyer, Audi, confirmed that she will resort to the European Court of Human Rights if the case is not resolved in the Court of Justice, adding that she does not rule out the case to the United Nations Committee for Human Rights.
