The National Gendarmerie’s Research and Investigation Service in Sharaga dismantled an organized criminal network with an international reach specializing in trafficking in hallucinogenic tablets and psychotropic substances.
The National Gendarmerie Command explained, in a statement, that the operation led to the arrest of 10 people, including a woman, and the seizure of 16,921 Pregabalin capsules, 19 vehicles, and two trucks.
This network has an international reach, specializing in the smuggling and illicit import of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances of all kinds, with a high degree of danger that threatens national security and public health.
As well as possession, transportation and storage for the purpose of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances within the framework of an organized criminal group, as well as the misdemeanor of money laundering and forgery of vehicle bodies and documents.
A significant quantity of psychotropic substances was seized, estimated at 16,921 Pregabalin 300 mg capsules, 14 hallucinogenic Ketel tablets, 19 tourist vehicles and two trucks, a sum of money from criminal proceeds worth 340,000 DZD, and mobile phones.
After completing all legal procedures, the suspects will be brought before Judicial authorities Regional specialist.
