The Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Dr. Youssef Belmehdi, arrived this Thursday morning in the province of Bejaia on a working and inspection visit, during which he reviewed a number of structures and programs related to the religious affairs and endowments sector, according to a ministry statement.
He was received at the state headquarters by Noureddine Karbouch, the governor of the state, and the local civil and military authorities.
According to the statement, during the visit, the Minister will supervise the opening of the “National Forum of Bejaia Scholars and their Intellectual Contributions through the Manuscript and Archive in its Third Edition,” in appreciation of the scientific and cultural role of the region’s scholars, and the intellectual heritage they left that constitutes an important pillar in memory and the preservation of the national religious authority.
The Minister will also inaugurate new facilities belonging to the sector across the state, as well as visit the headquarters of the National Bureau of Endowments and Zakat, where he will learn about its various activities, aimed at developing endowment work and activating social solidarity mechanisms through the Endowments and the Zakat Fund.
This visit falls within the dynamism witnessed by the sector, which aims to enhance scientific and intellectual presence, upgrade religious infrastructure, and strengthen endowment work mechanisms in the various states of the country.
