Belaili was forced to leave the Tunisian derby match between Esperance and Africain yesterday, Sunday, only 21 minutes after the start of the match, due to severe pain in his right knee.
A newspaper revealed Mosaic Al-Tunisia said that the medical examinations that the player underwent, using an MRI, showed that he had suffered a rupture in the cruciate ligaments of the knee, an injury that requires a period of treatment and rehabilitation extending to about six months.
Thus, Belaili will officially be absent from the accounts of Algerian national team coach Vladimir Petkovic in the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Morocco (from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026), as well as from the reserve team roster led by Madjid Bougherra, who is preparing to compete in the Arab Cup in Qatar (from December 1 to 18, 2025).
