Awar shines and leads Al-Ittihad to victory against the Iraqi police

The star of the Algerian international player, Hossam Aouar, shone during his club’s confrontation with the Iraqi Saudi Police Federation in the AFC Elite Champions League.
The Saudi Roshan League champion returned with a huge victory from the capital, Baghdad, where he defeated Al-Shorta with a complete score in the third round of the continental competition.

What did the Algerian offer?
Aouar scored a brace against Al-Shorta, after receiving two assists from French striker Moussa Diaby.
Al-Ittihad fell behind in the result after Bassam Shaker was able to exploit a monitoring error while executing a corner kick to score the first goal in the fifth minute.
Diaby equalized for the visitors 12 minutes later, before Brazilian midfielder Fabinho doubled the score via a direct free kick.
Houssem Aouar appeared at a crucial time to give his teammates a reassuring goal, as he scored the third goal at a time when his team was numerically inferior after the expulsion of Portuguese Danilo Pereira at the beginning of the second stage.
The Desert Warrior redoubled his efforts, scoring a fourth goal that ended the locals’ dreams of a comeback in the 76th minute.
Aouar and Frenchman Diaby formed a duo that upset the balance of the police defence, which left empty spaces due to its repeated attempts to rise in order to close the gap.
Al-Ittihad achieved its first victory in the AFC Champions League for the elite this season, after losing to Al-Wahda of the Emirates by two goals to one in the first week, then losing at its home stadium in Jeddah to Shabab Al-Ahly of the Emirates, with a goal for nothing in the second match.
Al-Ittihad will host Al-Sharjah Club in the fifth round, at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, on the fourth of next November.
