The organizing committee of the Algerian Cup Championship at the Football Association designated the stadiums of July 5, 1962 in the capital, and May 19, 1956 in Annaba, and Miloud Goaldi in Oran, in addition to Martyr Hamlaoui in Constantine, to host the quarter-final matches of the competition.
These stadiums will be equipped with video arbitration technology (VAR), which will come into service for the first time in local football competitions, as previously indicated by the Algerian Football Federation in its recent general assembly.
The Algerian Cup competition has reached its final stages, as the draw for the eighth and quarter-final rounds is scheduled to be held on Sunday, starting at 22:30.
The Algerian Public Television Corporation will broadcast the event live, following what FAF announced on its official website.
Eight teams from the professional league championship succeeded in reaching this round, namely, respectively, CS Belouizdad (runner-up in the last edition), USM Alger, MC Algiers, MC Oran, USM Biskra, CS Constantine, Etoile Ben Aknoun, and USK Khenchela.
While the clubs of Taraji Mostaganem, Nasr Hussein Dey, Olympia Agbo, and USM Annaba qualified from the Second Amateur League Championship, and the clubs of JS Azazka, Raed Bouqaa, Jijel Youth, and Wydad Tlemcen from the inter-regional championship.
It is expected that the Algerian Cup quarter-final matches will be scheduled for March 23 and 30, where the clubs that are withdrawn first will benefit from the priority of receiving at their stadiums, and this is for the last time in this season’s edition.
It should be noted that the clubs USM Algiers, CS Belouizdad, Mouloudia Algiers and ES Setif hold the record for the number of crowns, having won the championship title on eight occasions.
