A government meeting to follow up on digital transformation and promote new cities – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Wednesday, Prime Minister Seifi Gharib chaired a government meeting devoted to following up on several strategic files related to new cities and digital transformation.
At the beginning of the meeting, the government studied a draft executive decree specifying how to transfer basic installations and equipment completed in new cities to the relevant departments and institutions, with the aim of improving the performance of these equipment and ensuring their optimal investment to provide better services to citizens.
The meeting also reviewed four main presentations within the framework of implementing the directives of the President of the Republic related to digital transformation, which included: assessing the progress of digitization of ministerial sectors, the project to establish the second national data center being completed since September 2025, the national portal for digital services “Dzair digital services,” which provides secure and unified access to public services via the Internet and mobile phones, and two strategic facilities for the latest generation of national cloud computing to ensure the modernization and security of public and economic services and the preservation of sovereign data.
This meeting comes as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen digital management and raise the quality of services provided to citizens, while accelerating the pace of digital transformation in various sectors.
