Atf and Lavrov are discussing the strengthening of strategic partnership and regional issues – Algerian dialogue

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Ataf, held bilateral talks in New York with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Federation, Sergey Lavrov, on the sidelines of his participation in the works of the high -level part of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting was an occasion to review the various aspects of the strategic partnership that brings together Algeria and Russia, and discussed the prospects for its development in line with the high directives of the leaders of the two countries. The two ministers also touched on the common contribution to strengthening Arab-Russian and African relations, in the context of the ongoing preparations for the Arab-Russian Summit and the African-Russian Ministerial Forum.

The two parties exchanged visions on the most prominent international and regional issues, on top of which are the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, the issue of Western Sahara, and developments in the desert coast region.
