Zerrougui: Modernizing Algeria Post’s services is one of the sector’s priorities

The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sayed Ali Zerrougui, confirmed that the modernization of the “Algeria Post” institution remains one of the sector’s most important priorities.
The ministry’s statement explained that Zerrougui chaired, on Thursday, a meeting devoted to discussing the reality and prospects of modernizing the “Algeria Post” institution and improving its services, in the presence of the institution’s general director, Shiraz Bachiri.
This meeting revolved around a number of strategic axes aimed at “modernizing Algeria’s postal services and enhancing their performance, keeping pace with digital transformations and the aspirations of citizens,” as the statement indicated.
By the way, “the status of the institution’s infrastructure and programs for expanding the postal network were reviewed and continued investment in its development, keeping pace with anticipated projects across the various states of the country, ensuring a real approximation of public service to the citizen.”
The meeting also touched on “reclassifying postal offices according to new standards that take into account the volume of activity and the nature of the services provided, in addition to creating new job positions to support field human resources.”
In this context, the Minister stressed “the importance of strengthening the automated windows facility and continuing the pace of its operational readiness to ensure the provision of service in the best conditions, while ensuring the provision of cash liquidity permanently and regularly in all post offices.”
In conclusion, it was emphasized that modernizing the “Algeria Post” is “a major goal of improving public service and enhancing trust between the citizen and the institution,” according to what was reported by the same source.
