Zarouki stresses the promotion of digital sovereignty of Algeria

The Minister of Post and Wireless Communications, Sayed Ali Zarrouqi, stressed the importance of integrating and developing digital solutions based on research and development, as well as innovation and open innovation and keeping pace with the ongoing preparations to launch the services of the fifth generation by mobile phone customers.

This came during the minister’s inspection, on Tuesday, the continuation of the series of his field visits, which he started to the various actors of the sector, the headquarters of the Algerian Company for Media and Communication Technology (SATICOM), the branch of the Algerian Telecom Corporation.

During this visit, the minister briefed a detailed offer made by the Foundation’s officials on technical services and solutions directed to the benefit of institutions and administrative bodies, as well as reviewing the results achieved during the recent period, and the visit also included the inspection of the data center and the IP Multidia Subsystem affiliated to the Algerian Etisalat Foundation.

In this context, the minister stressed the importance of integrating and developing digital solutions based on research and development, as well as innovation and open innovation, to continue to support the expansion of the institution’s activity, allowing meeting the needs of the national market, as well as keeping pace with the ongoing preparations to launch the services of the fifth generation (5G) by mobile phone customers.

This visit comes within the framework of the sector’s strategy aimed at supporting the national industry, encouraging innovation and localizing digital solutions locally, enhancing the digital sovereignty of Algeria.
