Zakharova: Moscow relies on facts in building its relations with Washington – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that Moscow bases its contacts with the United States on the basis of a “realistic assessment” of Washington’s actions, and not on its statements. Zakharova said in a statement on TV Center: “We adhere to the assessments that were presented regarding the specific procedures and steps, and we build our communications based on the perception and realistic assessment of what they (the United States) are doing.”

She added that Russia continues its relations with any party that is compatible with its pragmatic national interests, noting that Russian foreign policy depends on dealing with “facts on the ground” rather than slogans.

In a related context, the head of the American Commission of Fine Arts, Rodney Cook, said that he looks forward to discussing cultural relations between Russia and the United States with former US President Donald Trump, soon.

The Russian Ambassador to Washington, Alexander Darchiev, also stated that Russia and the United States must deal together in a way that serves the interests of all humanity.
