When Greens match tickets turn into visas

Algerian supporters faced great difficulties in obtaining tickets for the match between the Greens and the Democratic Republic of Congo, for the eighth-final of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.
Fans who flocked to the Moroccan capital, Rabat, were forced to resort to the black market in order to attend the match hosted by Prince Moulay Hassan Stadium.
The scene was repeated for the fourth time in a row, as the stadium, which accommodates about 22,000 spectators, was not completely filled despite the large demand for tickets.
The Algerian suffers, unlike his counterparts from the other 23 countries participating in the 35th edition of the continental competition, when trying to obtain a ticket to enter the match stadium.
The Confederation of African Football turned its back on the urgent requests issued by the Algerian side in order to resolve the crisis, which raised many question marks.
Social media platforms were filled with video clips in which Algerians expressed their dissatisfaction with the way the organizing committee and the African Union treated them.
Local gangs took advantage of the event to reserve tickets on the “Yalla” platform and bid on the black market, especially in light of the continued arrival of Algerians living outside the country.
The price of a ticket for the three matches in the group stage reached 200 euros.
The Congolese fans realized the truth of the matter with their country’s national team facing the Greens, as many of them begged the Congolese embassy to provide them with tickets for the match.
