Voice of the People Party: Urgent dialogue on traffic and fuel – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The People’s Voice Party confirmed its monitoring of the situation related to the strike of some transporters in light of the debate over the draft traffic law and slight increases in fuel prices, stressing that traffic safety and respect for the law represent a national priority to protect citizens and reduce human losses resulting from traffic accidents.

The party explained that the draft traffic law is still under discussion in Parliament, which allows it to be amended through dialogue and consultation, taking into account the expertise of specialists. As for the recent increases in fuel prices, the party considered them limited and do not reflect the real cost, and necessary to ensure the continuity and quality of transportation services.

The party proposed devoting an organized dialogue with transporters, adopting a transitional period to implement some provisions of the law, reviewing fines in a way that balances deterrence and continuity of activity, and establishing support mechanisms for professionals to reduce the economic burdens. He called for giving priority to calm and suspending forms of protest, while continuing dialogue to protect the rights of citizens and ensure social stability.
