Victory Day is a source of pride for the Algerian people

The President of the National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Boughali, confirmed on Tuesday that Victory Day is a source of pride for the Algerian people, and is also an occasion to remember and recall the dear price that the Algerian people paid for freedom, according to a statement by the Assembly.
The same source explained that Bougali chaired a meeting of the Council’s office, “which began with praying for the souls of the brave martyrs and the Mujahideen who joined the Supreme Comrade and praying for the Mujahideen who are still alive to be preserved and have a long life.”
By the way, Boughali pointed out that “Today, Algeria celebrates Victory Day, which culminated in the heroic sacrifices accomplished by the processions of martyrs and convoys of mujahideen who, on this day, 62 years ago, forced the French colonizers to sign a ceasefire treaty.”
The President of the Council stressed that Victory Day “must constitute an occasion to remind us of the heavy price that the people paid for freedom,” and it also constitutes “a renewed opportunity to have mercy on the souls of those who paid the tax with their blood and the valuables of their property.”
This day should also be – Bougali adds – “an episode connected to other evidence of national memory that immortalized the horrors and atrocities that Algeria cannot forget when it spent a dark era under the yoke of hateful colonialism.”
Regarding the meeting’s agenda, it included “studying the oral and written questions deposited with the office and then sending those that met the required conditions to the government, in addition to studying a number of administrative issues,” according to the same source.
