Vaccinating nearly 4 million children against polio in the second phase – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The Ministry of Health reported that a total of 3,838,881 children were vaccinated across various states of the country, during the second phase of the national polio vaccination campaign, which was organized from December 21 to 30, 2025.

The Ministry explained that the children benefiting from the vaccination process are between two months and five years old, with the coverage rate reaching 96 percent, which reflects the effectiveness of the national strategy adopted in the field of health prevention, and its compatibility with the recommendations of the World Health Organization.

In this context, the Ministry of Health renewed its thanks and appreciation to all health professionals and the various concerned ministerial sectors, in addition to partners, the media family, components of civil society, as well as guardians, for their effective contribution and continuous mobilization to make this phase of the campaign a success.

The Ministry also called on parents to ensure that their children are vaccinated during the third phase of the national campaign, scheduled for the period from January 25 to 31, 2026, to ensure the protection of children’s health and the promotion of disease prevention.
