Russian Presidential Assistant, Yuri Ushakov, warned that European and Ukrainian proposals regarding a settlement in Ukraine would not be constructive, stressing that Moscow would strongly object if they were included in the American peace plan.
In an interview with “Russia 1” channel, Ushakov considered that the amendments submitted by Kiev and Brussels to the 20-item American settlement plan may contain provisions that are unacceptable to Russia, especially those related to territory, including some issues in regions such as Donetsk. He added that Moscow’s objections will be strong and clear, because its position was fully expressed during the negotiations.
Ushakov pointed out that the United States is aware of Russia’s position and understands it well.
But he expressed doubt that these amendments would produce any positive results.
He stressed that Russia did not discuss any settlement similar to the Korean experience.
Stressing that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will not succeed in regaining the Crimean Peninsula or achieving his country’s accession to NATO.
This statement comes at a time when the international community continues its pressure efforts to find a peaceful settlement to the conflict in Ukraine.
In light of the continuing sharp disputes between the concerned parties regarding territory, security, and sovereignty.
