United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Guterres condemned the killing of six Palestinian journalists in a Zionist air strike on Gaza City on Sunday, according to Stephen Dujarric, a spokesman for the Secretary -General, on Monday.
“What happened highlights the severe risks that journalists still face when covering this ongoing war,” Dujarric told a daily press conference, and stated that the Secretary -General called for an independent and neutral investigation into these killings.
Dujarric said that at least 242 Palestinian journalists have been killed in Gaza since the war began.
He added that the Secretary -General stresses the necessity of respecting and protecting journalists and media professionals and allowing them to perform their work freely without intimidation or harm.
