According to a statement To the Ministry of National DefenceThe operation took place following a distress call, after a rubber boat with 3 people on board capsized, 300 meters from Coralaz Beach, Ain el Turk in Oran.
A rescue operation was immediately activated at sea, by engaging Coast Guard rescue boats and the “LS-16” search and rescue helicopter belonging to the 560th Search and Rescue Helicopter Squadron, where the stranded people were rescued and evacuated to the public hospital institution in Ain al-Turck to provide them with the necessary medical care.
This operation falls within the framework of the humanitarian tasks of the Coast Guard units of the Naval Forces Command, which reflects the efforts made and the extent of their keenness to intervene to save human lives at sea, in all circumstances.
