US President Donald Trump threatened to attack Iranian oil infrastructure on Khark Island if Tehran continues to prevent ships from crossing the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that the United States is “capable of targeting all military sites” on the island, which manages about 90% of Iranian crude oil exports.
For its part, Iran is considering allowing a limited number of oil tankers to pass, on the condition that shipments are traded in Chinese yuan, as part of a new plan to manage the flow of oil through the strait.
