Trump arrives in Davos amid the Greenland controversy

US President Donald Trump arrived in Switzerland to participate in the World Economic Forum in Davos, after a slight delay due to an electrical problem on the presidential plane that required a return to Washington to change the plane.

Trump is expected to deliver his speech before the forum on Wednesday, amid mounting tension over his plans to seize the island of Greenland from Denmark, which threatens US relations with European allies. Trump announced a meeting on Greenland with “various parties” on the sidelines of the forum.

Trump said: “As I have previously told everyone very clearly, Greenland is vital to national and global security. There is no turning back, and everyone agrees with that.”

About 3,000 leaders of countries and companies participate in the forum, which is held in the Alps, to discuss the global economy, trade and artificial intelligence.

Under the slogan “The Spirit of Dialogue,” with the participation of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and hundreds of prominent figures.
