On Friday night, Prime Minister Seifi Gharib traveled to the sites of the fires that broke out in a number of forests in the municipalities of the western side of the state of Tipaza to follow up on operations and efforts to extinguish the fires.

The Prime Minister’s first stop was the municipality of Hajrat al-Nas, west of Tipaza, where he received comprehensive explanations about the efforts of fire extinguishing operations by the Director General of Civil Protection, Colonel Boualem Bouglaf, before heading to the municipality of Muslimoun to closely monitor the fire hotspots in the region.

From the Obaidat brothers neighborhood in the upper part of the Muslimoun municipality, Prime Minister Seifi Gharib inspected the locations and areas of the fires that broke out in the mountains and forests of the Muslimoun municipality and its neighboring areas, where he received detailed explanations about the progress of the extinguishing operations and was briefed on the extinguishing efforts in the field.

In this context, the Prime Minister of the families residing in the shelter center and the primary school, Martyr Mohamed Bouabdallah, confirmed that, in accordance with the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the state is keen with great care not to abandon them and to take optimal care of the families and accompany them to overcome this difficult situation caused by the fires. In this regard, he gave instructions to the local authorities in order to guarantee all the necessary conditions in their favor.

Upon his arrival in the state of Tipaza, the Prime Minister was received by the Minister of the Interior, Local Communities and Transport, Said Saioud, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Marine Fishing, Yassine Walid, the Director General of Civil Protection, and the Governor of the State of Tipaza, respectively, Boualem Bouglaf and Mohamed Amin Bouchwalia, as well as the local civil and military authorities.

The civil protection services, in coordination with various state departments and members of the People’s National Army, mobilized great human and material capabilities, including fire suppression aircraft, to control those fires that broke out in a number of forests in the western municipalities of the state of Tipaza, where the climatic conditions represented by high wind speeds and hot air currents contributed to the speed of their spread and the complexity of the firefighters’ mission.
