The National Committee for New Crescents and Islamic Times of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments announced that the first day of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH will be Thursday, February 19, 2026, after the sighting of the crescent of the holy month has not been confirmed, according to what the committee reported on Tuesday evening at the Imam House in the capital.
The committee, whose branches are spread across various states of the country, includes scholars in Islamic law and experts in astronomy, to ensure that the times of the holy month are determined accurately and in accordance with legal controls.
