Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamal Raziq, revealed that the number of discretionary programs indicated for the benefit of the agricultural and pharmaceutical industry sectors reached 1,707 discretionary schedules during the period extending from September to December 28, 2025.
The Minister said, in his response to a parliamentary correspondence regarding the procedures adopted by the Foreign Trade and Export Promotion Sector to address the import files of pharmaceutical and agricultural products destined for resale in the current situation, that his sector attaches great importance to this type of product due to its strategic nature and its direct connection to national health and food security, stressing in the same context that the processing of import files takes place continuously and periodically throughout the week except Friday, in a way that ensures rapid study and response. Due to the concerns of economic operators.
Kamal Raziq explained that these files are not subject to specific administrative deadlines at all, as their study begins immediately upon receipt and is delivered to representatives of the two sectors within a very short period of time (48 hours maximum), and the sector relies, in his words, on the “Green Corridor Mechanism” circulated to the various sectors concerned, especially the agriculture and rural development sector, marine fishing, and the pharmaceutical industry sector.
According to the Minister, this mechanism is based on the economic operator completing his procedures with the competent guardian sector before referring the marked files to his interests, which has significantly contributed to facilitating and accelerating the pace of processing. In addition, the Ministry allocates periodic days to receive economic clients in order to listen to their concerns and accompany them in completing their files in a way that enhances transparency and dedicates the principle of partnership with various economic actors.
Finally, the Minister of Foreign Trade said that the Foreign Trade and Export Promotion Sector will continue its efforts aimed at improving the pace of processing files and enhancing coordination with the sectors concerned, in a way that ensures greater efficiency in managing import files and contributes to maintaining the stability of the national market.
