In the early hours of Thursday morning, the General Directorate of Civil Protection announced the general outcome of interventions recorded following weather fluctuations accompanied by storms, until 00:00.
In the state of Boumerdes, the fall of several trees was recorded in the municipalities of Dels, Afir, and Hammadi, in addition to extinguishing a fire in an electrical meter complex in the municipality of Thenia, and the collapse of the roof of a house, without recording any human casualties.
As for the state of Batna, falling trees and electrical poles were recorded in several municipalities, including Batna, Thaniyat al-Abed, Naqaws, Qayba, and Shamra, in addition to rainwater being absorbed from homes and electrical installations, without recording human losses.
In the state of Algiers, several municipalities, such as Bab El Oued, Douira, Draria, Bouzarieh, Alcalitos, El Harrach, Bach Jarrah, Kobba and Baraki, witnessed the fall of trees, lighting poles and electrical wires, in addition to the fall of an advertising banner on a security officer at the bus station in the municipality of Baraki, where he was treated and taken to the hospital.
Similar interventions were also recorded in the states of Sidi Bel Abbes, Relizane, Constantine, Saïda, Tissemsilt, Mostaganem, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Bouira, Skikda, Blida and Oran, which included the fall of walls, trees, and electrical poles, and partial collapses, most of them without human losses.
In Skikda Province, a person was injured after trees and a public lighting pole fell in the city center of the Sidi Mezghish municipality. The state of Oran also witnessed two people sustaining minor injuries following the fall of the wall of a house in the municipality of Ben Freha. They were treated on the spot and taken to the hospital.
Civil Protection confirmed that most of the accidents caused only material damage, while its teams continue to intervene and follow up to ensure the safety of citizens.
