The Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Lotfi Boudjemaa, highlighted the importance of the procedures contained in the draft law relating to Algerian citizenship, especially in its part related to the withdrawal and deprivation of persons who are abroad and who carry out hostile activities towards Algeria, in refuting hostile and incitement plans against our country.
The first official in charge of the justice sector, Lotfi Boudjemaa, said during his presentation of the draft law on nationality to members of the Committee on Legal and Administrative Affairs, Human Rights, Administrative Division, Territory Preparation and Local Organization in the National Assembly, that this draft includes procedures aimed in its entirety at withdrawing Algerian nationality, whether original or acquired, from people who are abroad and carrying out hostile activities against Algeria, and working to implement the agendas of foreign countries or entities targeting national sovereignty and national security, activities that lead to creating chaos. He spread terror among the Algerian people and sowed the seeds of strife and division among the unified Algerian society.
Minister Lotfi Boudjemaa, while listing the series of measures included in the aforementioned project, stated that people conspiring against Algeria, especially those residing on the other side, will be stripped of their Algerian nationality, whether original or acquired, and thus they will be isolated and paralyzed from their terrorist activities towards Algeria, whether they are followers of the terrorist separatist Mac movement inside and outside the country, or other agents and traitors residing in different countries who carry out hostile activities that affect the national unity and cohesion of the Algerian people. By proxy or on behalf of the countries in which they are present and receiving money in exchange for implementing schemes and conspiracies aimed at destabilizing the stability and security of Algeria, the draft law excludes persons who do not carry out terrorist acts and activities hostile to Algeria and its national security, even if they are members of the opposition who are outside the country, according to the Minister of Justice, Hafez al-Akhtam, who said that the purpose of enacting this draft, which will be transformed into a text of law after being discussed and voted on in the National Assembly during the next few days, is to protect, strengthen and preserve national sovereignty.
