These are the latest developments in the Blue Plan projects to develop and modernize the capital

On Saturday morning, the Minister and Governor of Algiers, Mohamed Abdel Nour Rabhi, made a field visit to the waterfront development project in the center of the capital, to inspect the completion of a number of blue plan projects for the strategic view of developing and modernizing the capital.

During the visit, the minister reviewed the project to rehabilitate Martyrs’ Square, which will be modernized and the canal network will be maintained to prevent water leaks into the lower corridors. A glass corridor will also be completed over the archaeological remains present at the site, to enable visitors to explore them.

In this context, the Minister received explanations about the technical procedures for the progress of the project works. The Minister also inspected the progress of the ongoing works in the Masmaka Port Park, in its second part, where work is underway to complete a large balcony linking Martyrs’ Square directly to the sea, in addition to the completion of a parking lot that can accommodate 400 vehicles.

Rabhi gave instructions to accelerate the pace of completion, while preparing a study to extend the project over the area towards “Port Said” Square, and prepare the facades of the buildings located in the port of Masmaka.

The minister stopped at the marine station, where the old warehouses that were located were demolished, with the intention of creating a park on the waterfront, linking it to Port Said Square via an overhead corridor that is currently being completed. The park will include restaurants, cafes and open spaces.

On the other hand, the Minister and Governor of Algiers, Mohamed Abdel Nour Rabhi, had provided, within the framework of following up on the projects of the White Plan for the Strategic View for the Development and Modernization of the Capital, directives to accelerate the rehabilitation of old buildings in the capital, during a field visit he made to determine the progress of the works in a number of municipalities such as El Harrach, Hussein Dey, Mohamed Belouizdad and Central Algiers.

The process of rehabilitating old data is one of the priorities set within the white plan, as the state of Algiers launched a special program aimed at preserving an important urban fabric, distinguished by the quality and diversity of its architectural styles, but it was affected by the factors of time, which made it vulnerable to deterioration and fragility.

The works include addressing random expansions on roofs, balconies and basements, while taking the necessary measures to clear them of illegal occupants.
