The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, chaired a Council of Ministers meeting, which dealt with following up on measures to supply the national market with materials of widespread consumption during the holy month of Ramadan and the progress of supplementary programs for the states of Khenchela, Tissemsilt, Djelfa and Tindouf, where he provided many directives and instructions.
Following the presentation of the Council of Ministers’ agenda, and then the government’s activity by the Prime Minister, during the past two weeks, the President of the Republic gave the following instructions, orders and directives:
Regarding the water sector:
At the beginning, the President of the Republic, the Minister of Water Resources and Water Security, ordered the necessity of starting the construction of the two water desalination plants in Timangset and Tindouf, within the next month for the benefit of the residents of the two states, stressing that these two projects are considered strategic for the residents of our great south.
He also ordered the establishment of a new station in Tindouf to treat and filter used water, especially for promising agricultural projects.
The President ordered the Minister of Water Resources and Water Security to double the precautionary, control and caution measures during the operations of discharging water in excess of the capacity of the full dams.
The President of the Republic also stressed that the utmost importance should be given to respecting plans for distributing drinking water nationally, throughout the rest of the year, considering that the incident of tap water being cut off for the residents of the state of Chlef, before its recent return, is completely unacceptable, and will result in bearing full responsibilities, warning strongly against any laxity that leads to such an incident.
Regarding general preparations for the holy month of Ramadan:
The President of the Republic directed that all favorable conditions be provided for our citizens, in order to spend the holy month of Ramadan in comfort and tranquility, due to the sanctity and sanctity of this month for our citizens, where the bonds of cooperation and solidarity are high.
He ordered that government awareness be doubled during the month of Ramadan, to be positive and effective in the face of all concerns.
The President of the Republic noted the recorded abundance of various products, including agricultural and livestock, stressing that it must reflect positively on prices during this holy month.
Regarding the progress of supplementary programs for the states of Khenchela-Tissemsilt, Djelfa and Tindouf:
The President of the Republic appreciated the implementation of all complementary programs and the implementation of their projects within their specified deadlines.
The President ordered the government to prepare new complementary programs for the benefit of the less developed states, especially the recently created states.
