The women’s national team begins preparations before the Cairo trip

The training camp for the first women’s national team began on Tuesday evening at the Sidi Moussa Centre, where coach Farid Benstiti supervised the first training session.

Coach Ben Steti summoned 28 players to attend the current training camp, which extends until March 7.

The list included five players active in Algeria, three of whom are affiliated with the Olympique Akbou club.

The majority of the census joined Algiers, so the team began work before traveling to Egypt on Thursday.

The Algerian Federation, in cooperation with its Egyptian counterpart, has programmed two friendly matches, the first of which will take place on Thursday, at 20:45, while the second will be played on March 2, at 9:30 pm.

The team will return to Algeria on March 4, and will resume training for three more days.

The first women’s national team is preparing to participate in the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to be held in Morocco between March 17 and April 3, 2026.

The national team was drawn against the host country, Senegal and Kenya in the first group.

Nghazi joins Montpellier

French club Montpellier-Hérault announced the signing of national team goalkeeper Chloe Nghazi from Olympique Marseille.
