In this context, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired last Wednesday a meeting to evaluate the work of the committee charged with preparing for the expected visit of Pope Leo XIV between next April 13 and 15. This visit is considered a historical milestone that carries profound religious, cultural, diplomatic and symbolic dimensions that confirm Algeria’s role in shaping part of the spiritual and intellectual history of the Mediterranean space and the African continent.
