The US Embassy in Algeria invites its citizens to register via the STEP – New Algeria platform

The U.S. Embassy in Algeria called on American citizens in Algeria to register for the Smart Traveler Program (STEP), to ensure they receive urgent updates and important information in a timely manner.

The embassy explained in a post on its official account on the “X” platform, that registering in the program affiliated with the US Department of State allows embassies to communicate with citizens abroad and inform them of security alerts and emergency instructions.

The embassy confirmed that this service enables it to quickly communicate with citizens in emergency situations, whether related to security developments, natural disasters, or health developments, stressing the importance of taking the initiative to register to ensure obtaining official instructions in a timely manner.

She also indicated that registration contributes to facilitating the provision of consular assistance when needed, calling on all American citizens in Algeria to ensure that their data is updated periodically through the approved platform.
