Members of the US Congress praised Algeria’s role and its pioneering experience in combating terrorism, stressing the positive nature of Algerian-American cooperation in confronting this scourge.

This came during a discussion and listening session devoted to security in North Africa and the Sahel region, where members of Congress highlighted that Algerian-American cooperation in the field of combating terrorism “constitutes the focus of positive cooperation,” noting that “regional security and confronting groups
Extremism remains a realistic and necessary area for bilateral partnership.”

The members also expressed their appreciation for the Algerian role in the field of combating terrorism “as effective and based on field experience and accumulated experience,” noting that “Algeria is a stabilizing actor in North Africa and the Sahel thanks to its historical experience in confronting terrorism.”
