The start of purchasing the annual car voucher for 2026 electronically and on paper, starting from March 1 – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The General Directorate of Taxes announced the launch of the legal period for obtaining the annual car voucher for the year 2026, directed to owners of tourist cars, utility vehicles, and buses transporting passengers. The process begins today, Sunday, March 1, 2026, and ends exceptionally on Sunday, May 31, 2026 instead of March 31, as was usual.

According to the statement, the car voucher will be available in paper form through tax collector windows and Algeria post offices starting April 1, 2026, while it can be purchased electronically throughout the week and throughout the day from March 1 to May 31, 2026 via the “Your Voucher” platform at the link: https://qassimatouka.mf.gov.dz, using a bank card (CIB) or a gold card.

The Directorate pointed out that the electronic coupon does not need to be placed on the windshield of the car, but it must be presented in paper or digital form at traffic control, and it can be reissued for free in the event of loss or damage.

The Directorate also confirmed that the car voucher tariff has not changed within the 2026 Finance Law, with the exception of imposing it on vehicles equipped with a liquefied petroleum gas fuel system, and exempting electric and hybrid cars from it. Car owners are advised to check the legal tariff applied to their cars before paying, with the voucher tariff for utility vehicles determined according to the total load.

The Directorate explained that the temporary traffic card “yellow card” is considered an official numbering card, and its holders must acquire the voucher within 30 days from the date of using the car on national territory.
