The Speaker of the National Assembly receives the Cuban Ambassador to strengthen bilateral friendship – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Wednesday, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Azouz Nasseri, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Algeria, Hector Igarza Cabrera, on a courtesy visit, where the reality and prospects of bilateral relations between Algeria and Cuba were reviewed.

During the meeting, Nasseri pointed to the strength and depth of historical and humanitarian relations between the two countries, recalling Cuban support for the Algerian Revolution in 1962 and sending the first medical mission to Algeria in 1963, stressing that these initiatives embodied the sincerity and bonds of friendship that unite the two countries until today.

For his part, the Cuban ambassador expressed his pride in the level of cooperation between the two countries, praising Algeria’s permanent support for Cuba in international forums, and stressing his country’s keenness to expand areas of bilateral cooperation to include health, energy, water resources, culture, and sports.

The two parties also stressed the role of the parliamentary dimension in strengthening bilateral diplomacy, with a focus on activating parliamentary friendship groups and exchanging legislative experiences.

The meeting concluded with the two sides renewing their commitment to strengthening Algerian-Cuban cooperation and expanding the partnership in all fields, reflecting the depth of fraternal ties between the two countries.
