The Solidarity Sector intends to continue working to consolidate the gains achieved
The Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Issues, Soria Moulouji, highlighted, on Tuesday in Algiers, the sector’s determination to continue working to consolidate the social gains achieved, in a way that responds to the aspirations of the segments it supports.
During a presentation she made before the Health, Social Affairs, Labor and Vocational Training Committee of the National People’s Assembly, on the sector’s outcome for the year 2025 and the major axes for the current year, the Minister explained that the sector is working on “developing transparent mechanisms that ensure the real and precise targeting of the groups it takes care of, by updating and adapting the legal and regulatory frameworks, to ensure decent living and qualitative care for the needs of deserving groups, especially the category of people with special needs and attention to the status of women and their economic, social and political empowerment.”
Based on this – the Minister adds – “a clear road map has been drawn up according to an effective policy based on follow-up and evaluation, according to the priorities and requirements directly related to the groups in need of care, care and accompaniment,” and that is “an embodiment of the program of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his commitments to the various groups of society.”
Regarding the protection and promotion of people with special needs, the Minister referred to “the preparation of 12 regulatory texts related to Law No. 25-01 related to their protection and promotion of their rights, nine of which have been approved, while three texts remain under study at the level of the General Secretariat of the Government.”
The Minister also mentioned the measures taken in the field of protecting people with special needs, especially with regard to “the lump-sum solidarity grant, as well as the installation of the National Council for People with Special Needs, in addition to ensuring specialized education for children with special needs according to adapted methods and curricula.”
Regarding the care of people with autism spectrum disorder, the Minister pointed out the issuance of the presidential decree including the establishment of the “National Autism Center,” in addition to “the approval of the draft executive decree related to the establishment of specialized centers.”
On the other hand, the Minister reviewed the programs and mechanisms directed to benefit families, and also highlighted the sector’s efforts aimed at “care and protecting elderly persons by working to achieve well-being and independence for residents in their reception institutions,” as well as “strengthening their assistance and support measures, as well as embodying the solidarity arrangements aimed at reintegrating residents into a stable family environment.”
