The Social Partners Meeting confirms: Transport pricing will take into account the social nature – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Participants in a consultative meeting confirmed that Transportation pricing will take into account the social nature and capabilities of citizens, and the draft traffic law is still “under study.”
The meeting was chaired by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Interior, Local Governments and Transport, on Friday, in the presence of the Ministry’s Chief of Staff and the Director-General of Mobility and Logistics.
It included the social partners represented in:
- National Organization of Algerian Transporters
- National Federation of Carriers
- General Union of Algerian Merchants and Craftsmen
- General Union of Algerian Workers
- The National Union of Taxi Transport, under the banner of the General Union of Algerian Workers
The meeting was held at the request of the Minister of Interior, Local Communities and Transport, Al-Saeed Saoud.
The meeting focused on the fact that the draft traffic law is still under study within the approved legislative process.
The Secretary-General of the Ministry stated that the project remains capable of being enriched in light of the observations and proposals submitted, in clarification of what was discussed on the subject.
Regarding the issue of transportation pricing, it was stressed that the study of this file would take into account the social nature of public service and the capabilities of citizens.
The Ministry’s statement included that the meeting was held within the framework of addressing the concerns raised within the approved institutional frameworks.
This ensures – the statement adds – “the proper functioning of the public transportation facility and serving citizens.”
Saeed’s interests focused on the fact that “the door to dialogue remains open to raise all concerns.”
