The Prime Minister launches the work of a zinc and lead mine – New Algeria

Today, Tuesday, in Bejaia, Prime Minister Sifi Gharib supervised the laying of the foundation stone and gave the signal to start the work of the project to prepare the entrance to the zinc and lead mine located between the municipalities of Amizour and Thala Hamza..

The Prime Minister stated, in a speech on the occasion broadcast on public television, that the works in this mine “will constitute a qualitative addition in terms of the materials that Algeria will offer on the international market, and will allow for a better positioning of the national economy,” considering that these mining materials “have become a strong economic backbone in light of the competition between the various countries that own these wealth.”

The Prime Minister said, “Just as we set off yesterday in Gaara Jbeilat, we will set off today from Bejaia, and tomorrow we will set off at the phosphate mine, waiting for other projects,” adding that “Algeria is moving steadily towards exiting from oil rents, which is the ultimate goal set by the President of the Republic.”

The Prime Minister indicated that the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, fulfilled his promise to launch this project in late March.

The same official also listened, before that, to technical presentations presented by representatives of the relevant ministerial sectors, which dealt with various aspects of the project and the facilities supporting it, according to the Prime Minister’s statement of interests.
