The Prime Minister, Seifi Gharib, appointed the National Council for Agricultural Mechanization, which is responsible for preparing a complete inventory of farmers’ needs related to agricultural equipment, as well as taking care of all their concerns in the field of strengthening national capabilities to maintain agricultural equipment.
The Prime Minister’s services explained, in a statement on Sunday, that in implementation of the instructions given by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aiming to establish a national council for agricultural mechanization, Prime Minister Seifi Gharib, on Saturday, installed this council, which falls within the context of efforts aimed at modernizing the agricultural sector and enhancing its productive capabilities, by working to provide agricultural equipment for the benefit of agricultural investors, as the council is composed of representatives of the sectors concerned, in addition to representatives of Professional associations of farmers and local economic operators producing agricultural equipment.
In this regard, the Prime Minister gave instructions to prepare a work plan for this council that includes, in particular, the preparation of a complete inventory of farmers’ needs related to agricultural equipment, taking into account the specificity of each agricultural division, while being careful to identify the priority needs related to the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 agricultural seasons in order to ensure their success.
The Prime Minister stressed that the action plan will undertake to develop the necessary measures to enhance and diversify the local production of agricultural equipment, to meet the expressed needs, in accordance with the standards for the use of this equipment applicable to the characteristics of each agricultural region.
On the other hand, the Council will take care of the concerns raised in the field of strengthening national capabilities for maintaining agricultural equipment and providing spare parts, through establishing and developing a national network for maintaining agricultural equipment, in a way that ensures the efficient use of the national farm for agricultural equipment.
Finally, this council will hold periodic meetings in order to evaluate the extent of implementation of the action plan in order to effectively and quickly address the needs that have been challenged in the field of agricultural mechanization.
