The President of the Republic orders the postponement of the technical amendment to the Constitution – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, while chairing a Council of Ministers meeting, ordered the postponement of the technical amendment to the constitution in order to deepen the study to defend the electoral gain represented by the Independent National Authority for Elections, while the Council of Ministers approved the amendments to the draft organic law related to political parties, as the President of the Republic congratulated the Algerian political family on this new gain for the benefit of the Algerian democratic scene.

According to a statement by the Council of Ministers, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, yesterday chaired a Council of Ministers meeting that dealt with a draft law that includes a technical constitutional amendment, and two draft organic laws, related to the electoral system and political parties, in addition to a proposal regarding compensation for transportation costs in the economic field.

After presenting the agenda, and then the Prime Minister’s presentation of government activity for the last two weeks, the President of the Republic gave his orders, instructions, and directives. Regarding the technical amendment to the Constitution, the President of the Republic ordered the postponement of the technical amendment to the Constitution, in order to deepen the study, in order to enhance the democratic electoral gain, which is represented by the Independent National Election Authority.

Regarding the organic law for elections, the President of the Republic ordered that the amendments be reconsidered and studied more carefully, as long as they are of a purely technical nature…and he ordered that everything that is formal in the amendments be separated from what is essential.

Regarding the organic law for political parties, the Council of Ministers approved the draft organic law related to political parties, after approving the proposed amendments requested by the political parties.

The President of the Republic stressed that these amendments aim, in their entirety, to bring about integration in the law, which is considered one of the most democratic laws. The President of the Republic congratulated the Algerian political family for this new gain for the benefit of the Algerian democratic scene. Regarding a proposal to compensate transportation costs in the economic field, the proposal was studied in the Council of Ministers in accordance with the general data of the economic field.
