Brilliant Algerian athletes in various global and regional competitions, along with players from the national team that qualified for the 2026 World Cup, received special honors from the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, today, Wednesday, during a ceremony hosted by the People’s Palace.
President Tebboune chaired the honoring ceremony, which was dedicated to recognizing the efforts of the heroes who raised the national flag high in international forums. The honor included the athletes crowned in the World Championship for People of Determination, which was held in New Delhi, India, and the World Athletics Championship, which took place in Tokyo, Japan, in addition to those who excelled in the Arab Basketball Cup in Bahrain, and the national team. Football qualified for the 2026 World Cup.
This honor comes in appreciation of the President of the Republic for the achievements of Algerian athletes, and an affirmation of his constant keenness to support national sports and encourage competencies that best represent Algeria in the global, continental and regional arenas.
