
This evening, Ibrahim Boughali, President of the National People’s Assembly, chaired a coordination meeting with the heads of parliamentary groups, devoted to following up on the arrangements related to programming the proposed law criminalizing French colonialism in Algeria, and a proposed law amending and completing Law No. 86-70 related to Algerian nationality.
During this meeting, as stated in a statement by the Council, the various regulatory and legislative aspects related to the programming of the two texts were reviewed and discussed, ensuring that they are addressed within a framework of coordination and consultation between the various parliamentary groups, and in a manner consistent with the national and historical importance of the two texts initiated by the Council’s representatives.
In the same context, the President of the National People’s Assembly stressed the need to intensify coordination and joint work between parliamentary bodies, in order to make the legislative process a success, and praised the role of the heads of the parliamentary groups and their keenness to upgrade the image of the legislative institution, and their interest in sovereign issues of a national and historical dimension.
