The National People’s Assembly approves the organic law for political parties – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Monday, representatives of the National People’s Assembly approved the organic law related to political parties.

This text was voted on in a public session chaired by the President of the National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Bougali, in the presence of the Minister of the Interior, Local Communities and Transport, Said Saioud, and the Minister of Relations with Parliament, Najiba Djilali.

The draft organic law on political parties aims to strengthen the constitutionally enshrined principle of political pluralism and enrich the provisions related to the establishment of parties, while enshrining the principle of transparency in financial management, which contributes to confronting various forms of corruption in political life.

The provisions of this law also introduced a number of new measures aimed at expanding the areas of parties’ contribution to public affairs, such as contributing to the implementation of the government’s general policy and submitting suggestions and opinions to it on several issues, including the formulation of public policies.

Representatives of the National People’s Assembly also approved the voted text amending and supplementing Law No. (84-09) related to the regional organization of the country.
