The National People’s Assembly approves amendments to the Traffic Law and Regional Organization – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

On Monday, representatives of the National People’s Assembly approved the controversial provisions in the draft traffic law.

The representatives also approved the amended and supplementary text of Law No. 84-09 relating to the regional organization of the country.

After approving the provisions of the Traffic Law, the Minister of the Interior, Local Communities and Transport, Al-Saeed Saioud, delivered a speech in which he thanked the Speaker of the National Assembly, Azouz Nasseri, and the President of the National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Bougali, for their efforts.

The Minister praised the efforts made by all parties to reach a consensus formula that enhances the quality of the law and serves the public interest, stressing that this legislation constitutes an additional step in developing the national legislative system in the field of traffic safety, ensuring the regulation of traffic and the protection of road users.

The Minister concluded his speech by emphasizing the keenness of all relevant sectors and bodies to follow up on the implementation of the law, and to provide the necessary conditions for its fair and transparent implementation, which contributes to enhancing traffic safety and reducing accidents.
