Ben Taleb talks with the Director-General of the International Labor Organization – Algerian Dialogue

The Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Mr. Faisal Ben Taleb, spoke this Sunday in Algiers, with the Director-General of the International Labor Organization, Mr. Gilbert Hongbo, about ways to enhance cooperation with this specialized international organization.

This meeting, which comes on the sidelines of the working visit of the Director-General of the International Labor Organization to Algeria (from April 20 to 23), at the head of an important delegation, constituted an opportunity for the two parties to “exchange views on ways to enhance cooperation with this specialized international organization.” And to highlight the great efforts made by Algeria in promoting decent work, social dialogue and protection.”

For his part, Mr. Hongbo appreciated “Algeria’s pioneering experience in the field of social security and social dialogue,” and also noted the “good” relations that bind the organization with Algeria in the fields of labor and social security, stressing “the organization’s full readiness to support and enhance this cooperation.”

In turn, Mr. Ben Taleb presented “Algeria’s experience in the field of promoting social dialogue, focusing on the gains achieved for workers in the field of social security and decent work and the developments witnessed in employment mechanisms and the social security system in our country.”

This meeting was attended by the Secretary-General and the Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, officials from the Ministry, as well as representatives of the International Labor Office in Algeria.

It should be noted that “Algeria, which has hosted the International Labor Office for the Maghreb Countries since 1967, has multiple cooperation programs with the International Labor Office, and is also considered one of the leading countries in the field of promoting social dialogue and protection, in dedication to the principle of the social state based on the values ​​and principles of social justice.” .
