On Friday, the Palace of Exhibitions Safix, Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Professor Kamal Raziq, Acting Prime Minister, was represented by the Acting Prime Minister, accompanied by the Secretary -General of the Ministry of Industry, Salem Ahmed Zayed, Minister of Industry, Mines and Tunisian Energy, Fatima Shayboub, and Minister of Trade and Tunisian Export Development, Samir Obaid, on the opening of the African auto salon in Algeria, organized in the framework of the fourth session For the African -African Trade Exhibition, with the participation of the most prominent actors in the vehicle industry and spare parts on the continent, as well as representatives of the African Bank for Export and Import (Africemank) and the African Association of Car Manufacturers.

The Acting Prime Minister, Saif Gharib, confirmed, in a speech on his behalf by Minister Raziq, that the African continent is living today an escalating industrial dynamic aimed at strengthening values ​​chains by exploiting its natural resources, expertise and investments, allowing the embodiment of the aspiration of continental industrial integration.

He explained that the allocation of a complete space for the auto sector within the exhibition reflects the remarkable development of the vehicle industry in Africa, with new leaders in this field.

Gharib pointed out that Algeria had assumed a distinguished position in the mechanical industries, especially in the field of heavy vehicles directed to public works, agriculture and industry, with national integration rates of up to 70 percent, thanks to the industrial policies that it adopted for decades.

He also stressed that the national strategy seeks to upgrade the light vehicle industry with investments that allow the achievement of a local integration of at least 30 percent, based on the network of dragons, national and foreign supplies.

For his part, the representative of Africa, Haytham Al -Mayarni, highlighted that the organization of Algeria for this salon reflects its leadership in this sector, stressing that the African continent has all the ingredients necessary to build an integrated car industry that enhances intra -trade and supports the path of joint economic prosperity.

Martina Bayan, President of the African Automobile Society, also explained that Africa, in the event of unifying efforts, is able to manufacture between 3.5 to 5 million cars annually in the horizons of 2035, which will provide extensive job opportunities for young people and support local supply chains.
