The National Office for Disinfection records more than 1,200 interventions across the country – New Algeria

These operations resulted in recording 1,212 interventions, which included cleaning and disinfecting 1,046 inspection rooms, cleaning 4,814 cesspools, and disinfecting 165 water drainage channels, in addition to cleaning three receiving basins, disinfecting 13,517 linear meters of drainage networks, cleaning 59 gutters, in addition to suctioning rainwater over an area estimated at 610 square meters, and removing and evacuating 220 square meters of waste. To ensure the effectiveness of these interventions, more than 800 workers were employed, including 549 exploitation workers working on a shift basis, in addition to mobilizing various material means, such as hydraulic trucks and water pumps.

These interventions included several states, including Laghouat, Mostaganem, Camp, Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Ain Temouchent, Djelfa, Skikda, Blida, Medea, Jijel, Annaba, Chlef, Oum El Bouaghi, Illizi, Batna, Biskra, Oulad Jalal, Ouargla, Boussaada, Tizi Ouzou and Boumerdes, which witnessed significant rainfall during the same period.

The National Bureau of Cleansing indicated that these precipitations caused a rise in rainwater levels in several neighborhoods and roads, which necessitated the implementation of urgent interventions to remove blockages and unblock networks, to ensure the natural flow of water and reduce potential risks.
