The National Gendarmerie continues its qualitative operations to combat organized crime

During qualitative operations, in Sidi Bel Abbes and Tiaret, the National Gendarmerie managed to overthrow organized criminal networks that were professional in stealing and violating the legislation and regulation of the travel grant, so that 12 people were arrested.
A statement by the National Gendarmerie Command stated that, within the framework of fighting crime of all kinds, members of the Regional Battalion of the National Gendarmerie in Ben Badis, affiliated with the Regional Group of the National Gendarmerie in Sidi Bel Abbes, were able to dismantle a network consisting of 8 people, accused of forming an association of evildoers for the purpose of preparing a smuggling crime with a degree of danger to the national economy, violating the legislation and regulation pertaining to disbursement and the movement of capital to and from abroad, and failure to recover funds to the homeland.
The merits of the case are due to a person coming to the headquarters of the Regional Division of the National Gendarmerie in Sidi Dahou Al-Zair to report that he had been deceived and defrauded by a person who was organizing trips abroad for the purpose of benefiting from the disbursement grant in fraudulent ways.
The same authorities added that, taking advantage of these data and after coordination with the Public Prosecutor at the Ibn Badis Court, an in-depth preliminary investigation was opened into the circumstances of the case, where a criminal group was discovered active across the region offering and organizing tourist trips abroad in exchange for taking care of all procedures and travel expenses, including transportation and accommodation, in exchange for obtaining an exchange grant estimated at 750 euros. The investigation team was able in the first stage to arrest 5 people involved and to continue the investigation. 3 people were arrested. Others, the case resulted in the seizure of 3,915 euros, 927,000 Algerian dinars, 5 mobile phones, and two money counting machines.
On the other hand, members of the Regional Group of the National Gendarmerie in Tiaret were able to dismantle a criminal network that practiced livestock theft. The operation came based on a complaint submitted by the victim to the Regional Group of the National Gendarmerie in Tiaret that he had been subjected to the theft of a herd of sheep consisting of 15 heads.
The gendarmerie services indicated that the closure plan related to combating the phenomenon of livestock theft across the region was immediately activated and implemented, and after taking all measures, and in a short period not exceeding 24 hours, members of the same division were able to recover the herd.
The operation resulted in the arrest of 4 suspects, including those with prior judicial convictions in similar cases. Two means of transportation used in the crime were also seized, and a sum of money exceeding 15 million centimes as criminal proceeds.
The leadership highlighted that the herd of sheep has been handed over to its owner, and the arrested persons will be brought before the competent authorities immediately after the investigation is completed.
