The National Assembly approves two laws related to military decorations

On Sunday, members of the National Assembly approved two legal texts related to military decorations, in a public session chaired by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Azouz Nasseri.

The first law relates to “amending and completing Law No. 86-04 of February 11, 1986, which includes the creation of the People’s National Army Medal,” while the second law stipulates “the creation of new military medals in the People’s National Army,” in a step aimed at valuing the sacrifices and perpetuating the symbolism of belonging to the military institution.

In his speech on the occasion, Azouz Nasseri said, “The ratification of these two laws on the eve of the celebrations commemorating the outbreak of the liberation revolution, November 1, is a tribute to the military institution, adding that these two laws constitute one of the symbolic pillars that highlight the cohesion of the state with its military institutions, and highlight the extent of the nation’s appreciation for the sacrifices of its sons.”

For her part, Minister of Relations with Parliament, Najiba Djilali, delivered a speech in which she praised the national spirit and high responsibility that characterized the Council’s work.

Djilali said, “I thank you for your sincere patriotic spirit with which you have given the work of our sessions a distinctive character of pride and responsibility, so that your blessed efforts will be crowned with the approval of the two texts of the laws that include the creation of military medals in the People’s National Army.”

The Minister added: “Your words during these sessions were more than mere interventions; they were a living pulse from the nation’s conscience, and evidence that you not only represent the people, but rather belong to them and their army as the heart belongs to the pulse and the soul belongs to the body.”

She also stressed that “today’s ratification is not just a vote on two legal texts, but rather a collective signing of a national charter and a new brick in the edifice of the military institution,” noting that this step represents “a beautiful response to those who gave without expecting anything in return, and in fulfillment of the sacrifices of men who were true to what they pledged to God.”

The Minister concluded her speech by saying: “Your ratification today of the texts of these two laws is a sincere return to the spirit of belonging to yesterday’s army that brought us together under one flag, and pride in the sacrifices of today’s army, which made precious and precious things for the sake of the homeland,” recalling in this context “the whiffs of glorious November and the meanings it carries of victory, heroism, and loyalty to the martyrs and mujahideen.”
