The National Agency for Health Security represents Algeria at the World Health Organization Council in Geneva – Algerian newspaper Al-Hiwar

The National Agency for Health Security, headed by Professor Kamal Sunhaji, will participate in the 158th session of the Executive Council of the World Health Organization, held at the organization’s headquarters in Geneva, during the period from February 2 to 7, 2026, according to a statement by the agency.

In addition to the Standing Committee for Prevention, Preparedness and Response to Health Emergencies,

With a focus on four strategic axes: ensuring health, protecting health, promoting health, and activating and improving institutional performance,

Including topics such as combating non-communicable diseases, promoting mental health, combating communicable diseases,

Universal health coverage, emergency response, and digital governance in health.

The source indicated that the Executive Council, consisting of 34 members with technical expertise,

It is the primary body for implementing global health policies, and works to provide technical recommendations to ensure that international decisions are consistent with the priorities of member states.
