The Mujahid and former minister, Hajj Abdel-Wahab Bakli, has passed away – New Algeria

The Minister of Mujahideen and People of Rights, Abdelmalek Tashrift, offered his condolences on the death of the Mujahid, Hajj Abdel-Wahab Bakli, the former Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industry..

The text of the condolence statement read: “With deep sadness, great emotion, and a soul humbled by God’s will and destiny, I received the news of the death of the Mujahid Hajj Abdul-Wahab Bakli, the former Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, who moved to the side of his Lord after surrendering his pure soul to its creator and joining his brothers who preceded him to the abode of eternity, among the Mujahideen and the good martyrs.”

The source added, “As a result of this painful tragedy and great affliction, I, on my own behalf and in the name of the revolutionary family and all members of the Mujahideen sector and those with rights, address the family of the deceased and his honorable family with my sincerest condolences and sincere feelings of sympathy, praying to God Almighty to bestow His mercy upon the deceased and to cover him with forgiveness and contentment and to accept him well and dwell him in spacious gardens and provide for his family.” His righteous people, his honorable relatives, and his brave companions showed great patience… We belong to God and to Him we shall return.”

The Mujahid Abdel Wahab Bakli was born in 1940 in Berriane, Ghardaia Province. He began political and revolutionary work when he was a student in Tunisia, where he joined the ranks of the General Union of Algerian Muslim Students and was a fighter in the National Liberation Front. The Interim Government of the Algerian Republic sent him to Italy as part of its student delegation abroad in 1961.

After independence, the deceased held several positions in companies and public bodies, before being appointed in July 1992 as Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries in the government of Abdel Salam Belaid.
